fort matanzas

a couple years ago, two great horned owls nested in a tree at fort matanzas. we visited with gabe and ezra (who was then just a baby) and saw the chick and parents hanging out. it stuck with gabe and he went through a major owl phase that year.

this year, they have nested there again and hatched two chicks. we visited and the boys took turns checking the owl chicks out in the binoculars that were set up in the grass.

while we were there, we took the ferry to the fort. gabe was really brave and climbed up the ladder to the very top. ezra learned a new word (owl) and titus just hung out (as usual).
