an anniversary to celebrate

steve and i have been a part of our church since the day it began. in fact, for the first summer that it existed as a bible study (not even a church yet), my roommates and i hosted the study in our home.

march marked 6 years since coquina's first church service. and every year since we started, we have celebratde with an anniversary party. to most people at coquina, it is probably just another thing to go to. another gathering. but for us (and a few others who have stuck it out these last 6 years), it is an incredible testament to God's grace. it is an opportunity to remember how He has grown this body up from the living room of a small apartment to the church that it is now. it is a chance to remember that many church plants do not last, but by the grace of God, ours has. he has softened hearts and humbled individuals and knit us together and we are still here today, growing in love and grace and learning how to be a living testament to who he is.

and so we celebrated. nothing big, just a picnic at the park and all of our closest friends. our family.
