a wrap to give away

so, i have been dreaming of a moby wrap...

i love the freedom of being able to use both of my hands when gabe is whiny and teething and wanting to be held, but i find the baby backpack thing hard to use. when i found this wrap, i thought that it would be a great option, but i did not like the price tag ($40, plus shipping).  so, i looked up how to make my own, bought some fabric on sale, cut it in half, and had TWO homemade versions for (ready for this...) $11.  only thing is, i dont need two wraps in the exact same color.  i really only need one.  and since all i did was cut the fabric in half, i can't really sell the other one, now can i?  so, i would like to give it to someone who would use it.  comment and let me know if you would like it, and i will get it to you.  i guess if i get more than one response i will draw a number or something (dont want to hurt any feelings).  hopefully i can get it to someone who will put it to good use.  i really hate to waste.  thanks friends!

Hey Brittany,

I have been reading about wearing the baby--and am looking into making my own sling. How much material did you buy? The site shows a whole bunch of ways to tie one for different carries, so, I think I can figure it out :)

Also--Geoff and I have been taking pictures every day of Jude--I'll have to look at the flickr site :)

Happy New Year,
Darcie

i bought five yards of a cotton jersey knit in the clearance section in joann's. since the width is doubled over, i cut it in half width-wise (hence the fact that i have two now). the length was more than enough for me, and in fact, i ended up cutting maybe a yard off once i had it on. hope that helps. let me know if you need any more info.

also, the fabric usually runs 6 to 8 dollars a yard (pretty pricey). i got it for $3 a yard. oftentimes craft stores will run a 40% off one item special, and if you are buying fabric with only one cut (which in this case you are), it will count towards that.

Awesome! Thanks! I will be going to get that very soon---finally feeling almost normal from the stupid c-section---very grateful Dr.'s know how to get babies out that way since Jude wouldn't get out any other way--but, still--not quite what we envisioned--all that work with our midwife for a water birth---HA! :)

How are you all doing? Sounds like you have lots going on with your home/yard!!

Great quilt, btw, sorry about the dryer! The quilt is beautiful though and can be saved..that's great!!
