i spent $14.07 and saved $19.22. there was not much free this week (only the excedrine), but the things that i got are things that we buy a lot of and which usually cost us a lot of money, so the fact that i still came out saving over 50% from what i used to pay makes me happy. we did well at publix, too. i cant say enough about how much the blog helps us in saving huge amounts of money! she is the best!
and i suppose that it would be difficult to get away with not mentioning the inaguration today. i know that there are strong opinions on both sides as to whether or not obama will turn out to be the president of change that he speaks of. certainly it cannot be denied that with his election has come a great deal of hope for many people. as a woman living in a neighborhood full of kids for whom there seems to be little hope, i pray that this will be a turning point in their lives. a moment that they look back on and remember as the one in which they realize that their lives can be more than they had previously imagined possible. for them, i hope that obama lives up to his promises and becomes a great president. and maybe then, i can use his example to show the kids i know that perhaps God has a plan for their lives that is bigger than the neighborhood that they grew up in.
