farm livin' is the life for me

this weekend steve, gabe and i went to one of my favorite places on earth, my grandpa's house in madison. i have always loved spending time there, it is such a peaceful place, and i have so many great memories of time spent there. i grew up going there during the summer and fishing every day. as far back as i can remember, there have always been crops growing. sometimes watermelon, other times corn or peas or peanuts. there are always pecans to pick up. i am so excited to see gabe grow up feeding the catfish and riding on the tractor.

during the day on saturday, we spent some time walking around and enjoying the beautiful weather. steve sat with gabe in the tractor, and we gave him a few lessons on how to live in the country...

driving the tractor...

chewing on hay...

eating food that you picked yourself (HUGE blackberries that my grandpa grew, yum)...

at lunchtime, we had a cookout and steve's parents came over to eat and hang out. after lunch, gabe and my dad fell asleep in the rocker. it was so sweet!

saturday night was my cousin's wedding. she got married in the church that my grandparents were married in and her reception was at the house. it was so beautiful, and it was so fun to have all the kids running around the farm. we took pictures of the four generations: gabe, me, my mom and my grandpa.
