so, we told them that we would need the weekend to think it over. as the weekend drew on, it became clear to us that both staying and going would be great choices, and the decision became harder and harder to make. in the end, after much prayer, seeking of counsel and talking to one another, we make a decision that i hope will set a precedent for any future choices we may face.
we went with the choice that would place our family in the most healthy spiritual environment. and although boys town is a faith-based organization which seeks to nurture spiritual relationships for its kids, it would necessitate that our family attend church at the place of the organization's choosing. and in the end, that was not something that we were ready to do.
having been with coquina from its very first day, we have come to appreciate the incredible blessing of being fully immersed in a God-seeking, bible-teaching, community-serving church. and we both know how hard those are to come by. our desire is that our children would grow up knowing the joy of being intimately connected to the body of Christ, and thus we feel that our decisions should always reflect this desire.
and so, we remain in st augustine, content finding peace in God's provision for us here through a church that loves and nurtures us. we are excited to see how God will work in our neighborhood, and look forward to seeking His will in our presence here. and in all of this, we can look back even now and see God's faithfulness in teaching us and leading us through this process.
