just two

yesterday, i attempted a very difficult feat. to be fair, i knew it would be very difficult before i decided to do it. however, i felt very strongly that gabe and i needed to get out and do something fun, so we got our suits on and headed to the beach. at the pier, there is a great splash park intended for preschool-aged children.

i had a hard time convincing gabe to leave the parking lot and walk (there were pigeons all over the place, and we all know how he loves animals), but when gabe spotted the water spouting out of the ground at the park, he began to cheer. he thought the splash park was amazing and told everyone nearby about it (although they did not understand what he was trying to convey).

when we finally made it down to the beach, gabe wanted to spend the entire time in the water. it was a beautiful day, but the flag color-coded system warned that it was a red day (whatever that means) and the water definitely had a strong pull to it. we spent literally the entire time in the water while we were down at the beach (no, gabe was not interested in shells or sand or any of that other child-friendly beach stuff).

due to gabe's enthusiasm for the water and my inability to run after him these days when he gets too far away, i took only two pictures at the beach. one, intended to be a shot of gabe sitting on the beach towel, turned into a shot of the rocks and sand and gabe's back as he ran away from me. here is the other.

today, we rest and listen to the rain. we (i) need some time to recover from all of yesterday's adventure.
