live oak and the banker

on saturday, we went to live oak to celebrate john's (papa's) birthday. john and ofie and my mom met us there, and we had a fun time celebrating and visiting. gabe adores his grandparents and had a great time being doted on. he also got to meet a cousin! lulu's baby, paula grace, is about to turn one and is just as sweet as she can be. she had a great time poking gabe in the face.

there were five calves which steve and i chased around on the golf cart! the calves thought we were playing with them and decided to frolic through the field. i couldnt have been happier, and took what was probably more pictures than a sane person is allowed to take of cows. gabe was very unimpressed with the various animals, but i trust that in time he will be as thrilled with me at the peacocks, goats, cows and donkey that live at the farm.

it was such a nice visit and the perfect mini vacation for us. here are a few pictures from our trip.

on another note, after a long and uncertain summer, steve started his new job last week! God has been faithful just as we knew He would and has provided steve with a job that i think he will not only enjoy, but do very well at. he is working for prosperity bank as a personal banker (so let us know if you want to open an account!) and i couldnt be more proud of him for sticking it out and landing a great job after a long and frustrating search. he is such a great dad and husband!
