our sweet jonah:
:: weighs 16 pounds 10 ounces (50-75th percentile) and is 27.5 inches long (above 95th percentile). he is so tall in fact that the pediatrician and the nurse checked his height three times just to be sure.
:: has chunky thighs and those chubby cheeks! i have always wanted a chunky baby, and he is by far the biggest of our babies at this age (i think).
:: is a rolling, squirming, super active baby!
:: smiles and squeals at steve whenever he is near. he already seems to have a special place in his heart for his daddy.
:: is beginning to play with his brothers. he loves it when they smile at and chat with him and they appreciate that they are finally getting a response from him after all these months.
:: has found his laugh. it is always a little unsure and can transform into a cry as instantly as his mood changes, but it is deep and real and perfect.
:: can't decide what kind of sleeper he wants to be. i definitely think that we are better at reading his cues and meeting his needs than we were with any of the other boys, but he seems to be hitting the four month nap strike that all the other boys struggled through as well. he still cosleeps at night, and will often sleep for six to eight hours without waking for a feeding and then out of the blue he will wake every three hours all night (or every two, as was the case last night!) thankfully, i am rarely tired or even super bothered by his waking because he is so easy to get back to sleep. and i am (finally) getting better at letting it all roll off my back and remembering that this phase will be over too soon.
:: is certainly our latest waker in the mornings. often he sleeps until 9:30 or 10, regardless of how loud his brothers are playing on the other side of the door.
:: is the sweetest boy! and those cheeks! he is such a special kid and we are so blessed to have him as part of our little family.

{p.s. i finally completed this chevron blanket for him about a month ago. knit by mama, colors chosen by big brother gabe! love how beautifully it turned out!}
