the fourth, fifteen days late

our fourth was lovely. we spent it as usual with our coquina family, grilling out and watching the fireworks at the fort.

as usual, there are no pictures after dark. gabe is terrified of the fireworks, and this year, even though he had earplugs and covered his ears with his hands, he still cried until we left and begged "mommy, i want to go home". ezra cried as well, but out of sheer exhaustion more than fear. titus, however, watched the fireworks with great interest.

note to self: always dress your children in yellow or orange. they are fast, but at least you can spot them easily in the sea of red, white and blue. there is plenty of time for patriotism when they get older.
