christmas?

christmas snuck up on me. all of a sudden it was here and somehow i didn't see it coming (perhaps it was the sudden arrival of a second child that did it?). because ezra's due date (the 25th to be exact) threatened to make the holidays complicated, we opted for minimal planning and decorating for the sake of simplicity. and then precious ezra came... and i forgot all about christmas.

at the last minute, i was able to scramble to finish (nearly) all of the gifts that needed finishing and we had a very simple christmas here with my family. food was prepared and eaten, traditions carried on, and presents were exchanged.

but what i will remember most from today is the in between time. gabe was sick and feeling lousy (and thus cuddly and cute) and of course, ezra spent most of the day in the arms of someone or another. it was lovely.
