seven years old

for gabe's birthday this year, we went camping at paynes prairie with steve's parents and some friends.  it was the perfect way to celebrate our nature-loving boy.  he turned seven this year, and to go along with last year's pocket knife, he received a pup tent, which he eagerly set up as soon as it was unwrapped.

we saw lots of wildlife on the prairie, including bald eagles, bison and a wild horse.  the wild horse was so fond of us, in fact, that he insisted on following us halfway back down the trail.  it was pretty impressive how quickly ofie, kayla and i got the four boys back up the trail with a wild horse tailing us!  danielle and the men held the eager horse off for us, and we all made it back safely and with a really good story to tell! 

i am always amazed that God has given us such great people to live life with! gabe still talks about what a great birthday it was, and we are so grateful to our people for making sure he felt special.
