at 22 months...

:: is a handful! he is a high energy, loud, curious, excited boy and definitely keeps his mama on her toes.

:: never stops talking! there are days when i swear that i have not had more than a minute of quiet. my favorite thing he says right now is "nuts uh pocket" in reference to what he likes to put in his pockets. and yes, he says this on a regular basis.

:: wears underwear all day (for better or for worse) and a pull-up during nap and at night.

:: likes to name everyone he knows. example:

me: gabe, remember you are wearing your underwear, so please tell mama if you need to go potty.

gabe: papa.

me: you mean "papa wears underwear?"

gabe: yeah. mimi. gamaw. rahrah. memi. mama. daddy. zac! zoe. mordy. bimi. seenah. kissy.

me: yes, all of those people do wear underwear.

:: is a bit of a picky eater. compared to himself several months ago, he eats only a few foods consistently. he also prefers foods that are separated, so casseroles are usually out.

:: weighs in at a whopping 30 pounds. he is also tall for his age, i suspect, but we will have to wait for his 2-year-old check-up to find out for sure.

:: is a loving brother. whenever ezra cries, gabe a quick to rush over and sing a song (usually the "i love you" song, which he made up and i MUST get on video soon) or give a hug. it is heart-melting.

:: does what he sees. it is becoming obvious (sometimes painfully so) that everything we do is being watched and imitated these days. even when we think we are speaking too quietly for him to hear, we will often catch him repeating words from our conversation from wherever he is sitting.

:: is growing and changing so fast! he is so bright and fun and fantastic!!
