this year, however, i was really excited to be able to go and enjoy this excellent st. augustine tradition. i think that my favorite part about it all is that about half of the years, the crowd counts down from ten and then the lights don't come on. i love it when this happens. it has been a couple of years since this was the case, but last night, much to my great happiness, we counted down, and nothing happened! i was thrilled and cheered loudly. after a second countdown, the lights came on and everyone else cheered loudly. it was a blast!

nights of lights
last night, steve, gabe, jared and i made our way downtown to go to the lighting ceremony for nights of lights. last year, we didn't make it to the actual ceremony, as steve was working at night, and i was with gabe alone and not motivated enough to drag us both into the chaos of downtown.

Hi Brittany!
I went on Saturday night too! And actually, the first countdown we did was for only the Christmas tree. (From almost everywhere except right next to it, it can't be seen, so it seems kinda tricky...) Then the second countdown is actually for all the rest of the lights!
