christmas and the cowl

today, steve didn't have to go to work until 1:00, so we decorated the house for christmas. steve put up lights outside, and i did the decorating inside.


to save money, we opted not to get a tree this year. i figured that this may be one of the only years that we could get away with it, as gabe is really too young to care. instead, i gathered free tree clippings from home depot and made a wreath. i also added some to the decorations on the piano. it still feels like christmas, but we didnt have to spend a fortune buying a tree.


also, i finally finished the cowl that i have been knitting for my mom. when she mentioned that she wanted to get one, i practically begged her to let me make her one instead. i think that it turned out really cute, and i just adore the little wooden buttons that we chose for it.
