easter

sunday, we celebrated easter with (unexpectedly) only two sons. yes, we were expecting to have had little mister #3 before the weekend's festivities but, as they often do, he surprised us all and is still clinging to his quiet, laid-back life in the womb. no worries, we are hanging in there and hoping he comes soon (he will, it seems, be our laziest baby so far, coming even more late than little gabe did) and trying to enjoy our last few days as parents of (only) two amazing kids (and of not being outnumbered).

we kept busy over the weekend (you know, so that we were distracted from the stress of my still being pregnant), going to the splash park, good friday service downtown, brunch and church sunday morning, easter parade, and dinner with friends sunday night. for the boys this year, instead of the usual stuffed animals, i made train conductor hats. gabe loves to pretend these days, but dress-up clothes for little boys are hard to come by. so, we made our own. and gabe insisted on taking his hat and whistle straight to a little red train that is downtown in order to give them a try.

we had such a lovely weekend, and although it certainly was not what we expected, i am glad that things turned out the way they did.
