tomato sauce, perhaps?

time to do some canning!

it just might be time for me to try my hand at making tomato sauce. i think i will try this recipe to begin and see how i like it. as much as i like the idea of canning some, freezing might be a better choice for us, as we have plenty of freezer space right now and not much pantry space. we will see.

steve's cousins, denise and martin, along awith their kids have been in crescent beach this week on vacation. last night we went to hang out and gabe got his first real swim of the year. he enjoyed being in the water, but it is obvious that he will need a lot of work to be a pool baby. i believe some form of swim lessons are in order.

learning to float

not too sure about this

Want some fresh oregano for your sauce?

yes! because my oregano totally died along with all of my other herbs. i am not much of an herb gardener, it seems.

Tomato sauce is totally easy to make. We had to do it ourselves in Uganda, as they sold spaghetti ("spaghet") at market, but served it in oil. John was better at it than I was, but it's so customizable, and the taste of fresh tomatoes really makes it different from the jarred stuff here (not that I haven't completely reverted!).
